Weddings

Honest, unposed wedding photography across East Tennessee, from the Smoky Mountains to downtown Knoxville and Chattanooga.

I photograph weddings the way I would want my own remembered: mostly as they happen. The vows, the hand squeeze during the toast, your grandmother on the dance floor, the friend who cries first. I give direction when it helps, usually during portraits and family groupings, and I step back the rest of the time so the day stays yours instead of turning into a photo shoot with a reception attached.

How a wedding day works with me

Most collections start with getting-ready coverage and run through the send-off. I arrive early, walk the venue for light, and check the timeline with your planner or whoever is keeping the day on track. Couple portraits usually happen twice: a short set right after the ceremony while the light is good, and ten minutes at sunset if the schedule allows. Family groupings are planned in advance from a list we build together, so nobody spends forty-five minutes standing in the sun waiting for an uncle.

A second photographer joins for larger weddings, where the two of you get ready in different places or the guest list makes one set of eyes impractical. For smaller gatherings I usually work alone, which keeps things calmer and means you are dealing with one familiar face all day.

Where I shoot

East Tennessee is generous with venues. I work often in the Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg and Townsend, at farm and barn venues near Maryville and Knoxville, at historic buildings and rooftops downtown, and along the river in Chattanooga. Mountain weddings mean planning around afternoon weather and long shadows; downtown weddings mean knowing which alley catches the last light. I have shot enough of both to know the difference before we arrive. Travel within the region is included in every collection, and I am glad to talk about weddings further afield.

What you receive

Every wedding collection includes an online gallery of edited, high-resolution images with a print release, so you can order prints wherever you like. Albums and wall art are available through me for couples who want something physical to hand down. Turnaround depends on the season, and the FAQ gives realistic timelines.

Engagement sessions are part of every wedding collection; you can see that work on the engagements page. Pricing and what each collection includes are on the investment page, and when you are ready, the contact page explains what to include in your inquiry. Back to the full portfolio.
